THE APPLE AWARDS

“APPLE OF OUR EYE” AWARD
The purpose of the Apple of our Eye Award is to call attention to acts that honor the importance of caregiving work and respect mothers’ individuality and right to make their own decisions about how to care for themselves and their families.
APRIL 2006:  Diane Sawyer and Good Morning America earn the award with their episode titled "Mothers Make It Work."  Read the press release and learn more.

JULY 2005: The first "Apple of Our Eye" Award went to actress Brooke Shields for speaking out publicly about her personal struggles with postpartum depression, and defending every mother’s right to decide for herself how best to take care of herself and her family. APPLE PIE IN THE FACE AWARDS
The Apple Pie in the Face Awards are given to call attention to acts that divide mothers or trivialize the struggles mothers face in balancing caregiving with their other needs and responsibilities.

MAY 2004: The award goes to marketing and communications firm Euro RSCG Worldwide for its anti-mom categories, "Five New Categories of Modern-Day Moms."

NOVEMBER 2003: Mothers & More presented its first ever Apple Pie in the Face Award to the Dr. Phil Show for its episode, “Mom vs. Mom,” which divided mothers into warring factions.
